Privacy policy

This policy describes how a typical self-hosted OpenFormat instance handles information. Customize it for your legal entity, jurisdiction, and data processing agreements.

Data you provide

When users upload files for conversion, those files are processed on the server to produce an output. Retention—whether files are stored temporarily, logged, or deleted immediately after download—depends on how operators configure the deployment.

Logs and diagnostics

Web servers and application logs may record IP addresses, user agents, timestamps, and error details. Restrict log access, rotate logs regularly, and minimize personal data written to logs where possible.

Third parties

Self-hosted OpenFormat does not require sending your documents to a vendor cloud by default. If you enable external services (such as analytics or remote storage), document those flows separately and obtain consent where required.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data. Describe how requests are validated and fulfilled for your organization.
